The experimental results have been
obtained from a K wire pull out force
test were a K wire was drilled into a
fresh sheep femur bone and was
pulled out in a uniaxial Instron machine

Numerical model
•The simulations were carried out
using Abaqus finite element software.
•During the Simulations steady state
condition was assumed.
•We used the size, shape and
mechanical properties of the KW and
bone segment from the mechanical
experiment system.
•Friction is modeled by connector
elements wires that we add to
connect the KW and bone structure in
order to make a physical interaction
between them
