Continuous Monitoring of the Delivery Process
Design
The system consist of two separate parts;
an internal and external unit.
The sensor designed to be attached to
the cervix’s inner edges, and wirelessly data
transports to the external unit, that analyze
and presents the results.
Internal:
Infrared proximity sensor
(VCNL4000) was chosen for the
distance measuring.
Wireless communication using
Bluetooth module.
Both are connected and
controlled by an Arduino
development kit.
External:
GUI is handled by CVI software.
Wirelessly receives and displays
the data.
Enables control for self
operating.
Graphical display of the delivery
progress (optional).
Summary
This device has potential of making a big step forward in bringing technological
advancement to this field of birth.
Engineering feasibility has been proven. Additional clinical tests are required for
validation.
