Analysis of Microscopic Images for Embryos Quality Assessment

IVF is a treatment applied for
infertility. In this process the oocytes
are fertilized in lab conditions. In the
lab, the embryologist scores the
fertilized oocytes and the most
suitable
embryos are being
transferred to the uterus. The current
grading systems are based on visual
information. Since each embryologist
sees the embryo differently, there is a
need for more accurate grading
system.
The main goal of this project is
building an algorithm that evaluate the
quality of embryos and appoint the
embryos with best potential. This
technique,
based on image
processing, can replace the current
scoring system.
